Hi there buttercup!
Today I want to talk about a common skin concern: dryness. It’s a struggle we’ve all faced at some point, right? You see a problem with your skin, and maybe you tried to google for a few results, or tried some home remedies your grandmother told you about.
But have you ever wondered if you’ve been falling for some skincare myths that might worsen your dry skin?
Here’s 3 myths that I hear a lot of people talk about:
Myth 1: Drinking more water will magically solve dryness.
While staying hydrated is essential for overall health, it’s not a one-stop solution for dry skin.
Your skin’s hydration level also depends on weather, diet, and skincare routine.
So, while drinking plenty of water is great, addressing the root causes of dryness is also essential.
Do this instead: Look at the rest of your diet and lifestyle, the cause might surprise you!
Myth 2: Oily skin can’t be dry.
I hear this one all the time!
Oily skin means your glands produce excess oil, but it doesn’t mean your skin can’t be dehydrated.
Over-cleansing oily skin can sometimes strip it of its natural oils, leading to dryness.
Do this instead:
- Use a mild cleanser
- Avoid harsh exfoliation
- Use lukewarm water when washing your face
- Moisturising can help! Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser that suits your skin type.
Myth 3: The more expensive the product, the better it is.
High price doesn’t always mean best product!
While it’s true that some high-end products offer luxurious ingredients and formulations, it doesn’t always mean they’re the best fit for your skin.
The key is to find products that address your specific concerns and work effectively with your skin type.

It works like a foundation WITH an SPF 50+.
And the best part? It comes in various skin tones so you can find the one that works best for your beautiful skin.
